The Barcolana is the world’s largest regatta that cuts through the waters of the Gulf of Trieste every second Sunday in October. Of great international importance, it earned a place in the Guinness Book of Records in 2018 as the ‘Largest Sailing Race‘ with 2689 participating boats.
This event transforms Trieste into the sailing world capital and for 10 days, from 29 September to 8 October, it is a continuous party in the city, with numerous events both at sea and on land: from the regattas for children, to the regattas with historical boats, from the ‘Barcolana Village’ that animates the “Rive” of Trieste to exhibitions and shows.
Attending this regatta is aunique experience: a spectacle of white sails, colours and smiles reflecting on the waves of the Adriatic. Embrace tradition and innovation by immersing yourself in the overwhelming energy of this historic event.
